Kia K9 Leads In Korea

In Germany, the introduction is not currently planned. The sedan is based on a proprietary platform and is powered by the rear wheels. "The K9 is our first large sedan with rear-wheel drive for more than ten years. This model will bring up a whole new group of modern, forward-looking customers to Kia, "said Soon-Nam Lee, Director of Overseas Marketing Group, Kia Motor Corporation. The car is 5.09 meters long, 1.90 meters wide and 1.49 meters high, the wheelbase of 3.05 meters.
8-speed automatic transmission and V6 gasoline direct injection

At launch, the K9 will be offered with a revised V6 petrol engine from the lambda series. The 3.8-liter engine with variable valve timing (CVVT) and a variable intake system (VIS) has been improved in efficiency and performance, making 290 hp. From 2013 for the sedan also einneuer direct injection gasoline engine available. The six-cylinder GDI also has 3.8 liters and has 334 hp.
The power transmission is standard with a newly developed eight-speed automatic transmission that is actuated electromechanically using a joystick (shift-by-wire). The body consists of nearly 75 percent of ultra-high-strength steel. The suspension comprises at the front and rear axle five-link systems. When electronically controlled air suspension system can select between four modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow.
Entertainment and a VIP Fund
Contribute to active safety include: Adaptive LED Headlights for low and high beams, lane departure warning, radar-based blind spot detection and a panoramic view parking system with four cameras. For comfort features include a head-up display, a 12-inch LCD screen in front, two 9-inch monitors behind, a Lexicon sound system from Harman with 17 speakers and cruise control with distance automatic.
